Maguing, Lanao Del Sur - Through the continuous efforts of the intensification campaign against illegal drugs, joint elements of RID-RDEU, PDEU PSOG LDSPPO, 1st PMFC, 1403rd RMFC of RMFB14, PIU LDSPPO, and Maguing MPS conducted Buy-Bust operation that resulted to the arrest of four (4) suspects and confiscation of 750 grams of illegal drugs worth of Php 5,105,000.00 around 5:30 pm on June 9, 2022 at Brgy. Dimarao, Maguing, Lanao del Sur.
Authorities identified the arrested suspects as Usop Macalabo y Ramos, 35y/o, married, businessman; Absamin Hadsi Aslam y Macalabo, 27y/o, married, driver; Marion Bantayan y Mali, male, 20y/o, married, all three (3) are residents of Lumbac Dimarao, Maguing LDS; and Unting Ugarinan y Mampao, Male, 52y/o, married, resident of Brgy. Romayas, Lumba-Bayabao, LDS.
Accordingly, the subject personalities were on the Watchlist of Maguing Police Station and under the monitoring of PDEA. Scope of operations of the group is believed to be almost in the entire Lanao del Sur including its neighbouring provinces and has been maintaining a drug den in the aforementioned barangay.
Above named suspects were immediately arrested after an illegal drug transaction with the police who acted as poseur buyers was consumated that further resulted to the seizure of the following: illegal drugs believed to be shabu with an estimated total weight of 750 grams and an estimated street value of (Php 5,105,000.00);
One (1) denomination of genuine one hundred peso bill put on top of 2,999 photocopied bills amounting to three hundred thousand pesos ( Php 300,000.00) as buy-bust money; One (1) unit cal .45 with magazine and 7 live ammos; One (1) unit Handheld Radio (Baofeng); One (1) Explosive TNT; Three (3) packs of dried leaves suspected to be Marijuana with the estimated
street value of Three Thousand Pesos (Php 3,000.00); and other drug paraphernalia.
The arrested suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and are now detained at Maguing MPS for disposition while confiscated pieces of illegal drug evidence will be submitted to PDEA-BARMM for examination and for custody.
A case for violation of R.A. 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), R.A 10591 (comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition) and R.A 9516 are the possible cases to be filed against the arrested suspects.
