PRO BAR security measures for the Special Elections in Tubaran, Lanao Del Sur on May 24, 2021 are all set as 820 security forces from PNP & AFP will be deployed.
PNP contingents composed of personnel from Lanao Del Sur PPO, PNP Special Action Force, RMFB 14, and PNP EOD together with the 181 personnel from the AFP will secure the polling centers in Brgy Tangcal with 10 polling precincts; Brgy Tubaran Proper with 2 precincts; and Brgy Buribid with 3 precincts, while 45 personnel from the Regional Headquarters will be designated to serve as Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs).
To ensure transparency, provide additional evidence against saboteurs, and for the purposes of live monitoring by the higher headquarters, Body-Worn Camera (BWC) system will be utilized by the security forces which, according to PMGen Valeriano De Leon, The Director for Operations, PNP, and Deputy Commander of the Special Task Force for the 2022 NLE, "BWC would be greatly useful not only for transparency on the part of PNP personnel but also in any legal offensive against those who would dare to sabotage or influence the results of the special polls."
Thus, the Regional Headquarters PRO BAR, together with the PNP Directorate for Operations, will conduct dry-run/live streaming for the BWC on May 23, 2022, a day before the special elections, at the exact area where the special elections will be conducted as part of the heightened preparations.
PRO BAR ensures the sufficiency in logistics support for police personnel and troops to guarantee the successful handling of security operations, moreover, urges all members of the PNP and other law enforcement agencies to remain neutral and apolitical in order to conduct the special elections in a safe, honest, and orderly manner.
