Following the confiscation of 55 grams of “shabu” worth of Php 374,000.00 and arrest of three (3) individuals in a checkpoint operation in Barangay Gadongan, Marawi City on January 2, 2022, was another accomplishment during a same operation in Brgy Tampilong, Marawi City on January 6, 2022 by joint personnel of Marawi City Police Station and 500th Combat Engineering Battalion, 55th Engineering Brigade that resulted to the seizure of 12 grams of suspected “shabu” with estimated value of Php81,600.00 and arrest of two (2) drug suspects.

Chief of Police of Marawi City Police Station identified the suspects as Samsoding Radio Ali, 19 years old, male, married, driver, and Jamalon Tano Obinay, 20 years old, male, married, both residents of Tangcal, Lanao Del Norte.
Report from Marawi CPS revealed that suspects riding in a motorcycle were flagged down and confronted for not wearing face masks during said checkpoint operation when they became visibly uneasy and acted suspiciously prompting the troops to conduct further investigation which resulted to the discovery and seizure of illegal drugs.
Arrested suspects and pieces of evidence recovered were brought to Marawi CPS for proper disposition. Charges for Violation of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drug act of 2002) will be filed against the suspects.
Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Eden T Ugale, Regional Director, PRO BAR, commends the operatives behind the successful operation, and reiterates that PRO BAR will continue to intensify its Checkpoint Operations and strengthen security measures to preempt criminal activities to ensure the safe conduct of the 2022 National and Local Elections in the Bangsamoro region.
“I congratulate our troops for a job well done. These accomplishments show the endurance and determination of our troops in conducting checkpoint operations. We shall continue to intensify our checkpoint operations and other security measures to preempt criminal activities to ensure the safe conduct of the 2022 National and Local Elections in the Bangsamoro Region”, Police Brigadier General Ugale, said.
