      After the confiscation of 176,800.00 worth of “shabu” and arrest of three (3) drug peddlers in Barangay Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on November 8, 2021, personnel of Bongao MPS led by Police Major Annidul M Sali intensified more its anti-illegal drugs campaign that resulted to the arrest of six (6) more drug peddlers and confiscation of 53.2 grams of “shabu” with estimated value of Php 361,760.00 in a separate operation in Barangay Tubig Tanah and Barangay Simandagit, both of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on November 10, 2021.
     Police reports from Tawi-Tawi PPO disclosed that while the elements of Bongao MPS were conducting mobile patrol, they received information from a concerned citizen about the ongoing drug peddling activities in Barangay Tubig Tanah. Acting on the said report, the police operatives abruptly proceeded to the area wherein the arrested suspects identified as Nelson Arek Amanun, Asiah Hattang Arik and Aldinon Mangkabong Arpa, all residents of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi were caught in the act engaging in illegal drug activity. Confiscated from their possession were 51 grams of “shabu” with an estimated value of Php 346,960.00
    In another anti-illegal drug operations conducted in Barangay Simandagit, another 3 drug personalities were arrested identified as Benjie Jaafar Hamsaluddin, Sam Baluan Halilullah, and Dawin Takallah Arabain, when they were caught in the act engaging in illegal drug activities. Seized from their possession were 2.2 grams of “shabu” with an estimated value of Php 14,960.00.
      PBGen Eden T Ugale, Regional Director, PRO BAR lauds the active support of the community and the determination of the operating personnel to end illegal drugs menace in the said municipality, he further reiterates that the confiscation of “shabu” worth of more than half million in about 3 days is a proof of PRO BAR relentless effort against illegal-drugs.
    The suspects are now under the custody of Bongao MPS, they will face charges in violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
      The Regional Director also assure to the public that Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region has always been committed to eradicate illegal drugs, and will intensify more its campaign against criminality in preparation for the upcoming National and Local Election 2022.
