           Street peddling of illegal drugs particularly "shabu" is expected to decline in Marawi City and nearby municipalities following the arrest of two alleged drug peddlers in possession of 16.15 grams of “shabu” worth of Php 109,820 in Barangay Bubonga, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur on October 27, 2021.

            Combined elements of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region from Marawi City Police Station, 1403rd RMFB, PIU LDSPPO, and 1st & 2nd PMFC LDSPPO identified the arrested 2 drug peddlers as Benjamin Mangcol Abubakar alias “Romnick” and Nofail Campong Amenodin alias “Onak”.

            Accordingly, weeks prior to the arrest of the suspects, their illegal activities was been monitored by Lanao del Sur PPO operatives who later set up an entrapment operation that leads to the arrest of the dou.

            Confiscated from the possession of the said suspects were: One (1) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet Containing White Crystalline Substance believed to be "shabu" with an estimated weight of 0.15 grams; Four (4) heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be "shabu" with an estimated weight of 16 grams; One (1) piece 500 peso bill buy bust money; Identification Cards; and other drug paraphernalias.

            The suspects who are now under the custody of Marawi City Police Station will be charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
