            PRO BAR is expecting more surrenderers from the Abu Sayyaf Group following the surrender of their seven (7) former comrades’ who’s names were withheld for security reasons together with their six (6) units M1 Garand Rifles.

            The surrender of the 7 ASG members in Talipao, Sulu on October 26, 2021 was successfully negotiated through the joint efforts of personnel from Talipao MPS led by PCPT JEMU W RAMOLETE, OIC and 2nd SF Batallion, SFR(A), PA, together with Municipal Task Force ELAC headed by Hon Nivocadnizar I. Tulawie, Municipal Mayor.

            The surrendered ASG members expressed their willingness to return to the folds of law after realizing that their hardships and what they thought they are fighting for is a pointless battle. Further, the surrender of their fellow ASG members who are now living a peaceful life also made them realize that returning to the government is a much better option than being exploited by their commanders' personal gain.

            PBGEN EDEN T UGALE, RD, PRO BAR expressed his appreciation to the Local Government Officials in Sulu for facilitating the surrender of Abu Sayyaf Group members. “Lubos po kaming nagpapasalamat at nagbibigay pugay sa kooperasyon ng mga Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Sulu sa patuloy na inisyatiba laban sa terorismo at tulong na binibigay sa ating mga sumusukong kasapi ng Abu Sayyaf Group”. PBGen Ugale said.

            The Regional Director also urges other Local Terrorist Groups - ASG members to surrender and come back to the government and start a new life.
