       The Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region heightened it’s security in Maguindanao following the explosion of alleged Improvised Explosive Device that took place along national highway near CAFGU Detachment in Guindulungan town on Saturday night.

         Report from Guindulungan Municipal Police Station disclosed that around 6:30 PM of October 23, 2021; concerned citizens reported to the said police station that an explosion was transpired at Sitio Pasok, Barangay Macasampen. Immediately, personnel of Guindulungan MPS proceeded to the reported explosion site. Thereat, they temporarily closed the highway with the AFP Troops. Further, the on duty CAFGU Member at Macasampen detachment statement revealed that he saw a baggage thrown by the unidentified individuals riding on a motorcycle and one unit Mini Van coming from South direction heading towards Cotabato City. Few seconds an explosion was heard and transpired. No injury person was reported during the explosion.

       The responding EOD team processed the crime scene and discovered some pieces of wires, found unexploded believed to IED. After clearing operation was conducted, at around 7:20 PM of same date, the highway was open and passable for the commuters.

      Further Investigation conducted revealed that the possible target of said IED's was the CAFGU Detachment as an act of retaliation activities perpetrated by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters lawless group operating in SPMS Box area due to the killing if BIFF Commander aka "Double S" week ago in Datu Saudi municipality.

           Police Brigadier General Eden T Ugale, Regional Director, PRO BAR was instructed all offices and units commanders in Maguindanao to conduct intensified patrol operations, checkpoint operations and intel-driven operations to prevent, pre-empt any illegal and terror activities conducted by the lawless group.

          The Regional Director also encourage the public support to report any suspicious individuals acts and activities to the nearest police stations or to other law enforcement agencies on their area.
