         SULU - Six (6) drug peddlers were arrested and 1 killed while authorities confiscated PHP13.6 million worth of shabu during an anti-illegal drug operation in Parang, Sulu on September 24, 2021.

         Citing reports from Sulu PPO, the arrested suspects were identified as  AJING ABDULA SAMAD; ABDU HARAN NUNGI, EYAN G. DUGASAN; CEASAR ERAN ARADAIS; DUGASAN ISTUALA; MURSIDIN JALLING; and MIRAJULL MANGLAWI who died after the ensued firefight with authorities. The suspects even tried to escape using “motorized bancas” but were immediately cornered by combined government forces and were arrested successfully.

         This another successful joint buy-bust operation of PRO BAR, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is the result of the toughened campaign against illegal drugs in Sulu, wherein the authorities have been combining their forces and intelligence capabilities to effectively fight the illegal drug activities in the Bangsamoro Region.

           The arrested suspects will be charged with RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

          PRO BAR Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Eden T Ugale, lauds the operating units and reiterates that PRO BAR is determined to end illegal drug menace in the region. He further reiterates that PRO BAR remains constant in working with PDEA and other law enforcement groups to eradicate the small-scale and big-time drug personalities in the Bangsamoro region.
