MAGUINDANAO - The continuing operations of the Police Regional Office - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region against illegal drugs yielded further success with the arrest of a drug peddler in Datu Piang town on September 2, 2021.           

            Datu Piang MPS identified the suspect as Jodatu Bagoamama Fidel, male, 21 years old, jobless, and resident of Barangay Balong, Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao.

            Reports from Maguindanao Police Provincial Office disclosed that at about 3:30 PM of September 2, 2021, operatives of Datu Piang MPS together with elements of Philippine Army conducted Anti-illegal Drug Operations at Sitio 3, Barangay Kalipapa, Datu Piang Municipality that resulted to the arrest of the suspect and confiscation from his possession of about 25.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php 150,000). Said operation was successfully conducted with the aid of the MILF Task Force Ittihad by providing information to the government forces regarding the drug activities at the aforementioned place.

            The suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence are now in the custody of Datu Piang Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. The authorities are now filing a case against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

            Police Brigadier General Eden T Ugale, Regional Director, PRO BAR lauds the efficiency of the operatives and also appreciates the support of the Bangsamoro citizens to help the PNP in this war against drugs. He further encourages this act of willingness from the populace of the Bangsamoro region to continue the support given to the PNP to put behind bars those involved in this detestable activity.
