TAWI-TAWI – Eight (8) drug personalities were arrested in a buy bust operation in Barangay Luuk Pandan, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on July 26, 2021.
Report from Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office disclosed that at about 10:40 AM of July 26, 2021, Personnel of Bongao Municipal Police Station conducted an Anti – Illegal Drug (Buy Bust) Operations which resulted to the arrest of suspects identified as: Jimar Asali Sali alias “BEN”, 39 years old, male, married; Rasul Abubakar Abdula, 40 years old, male, married; Alexander Villafani Gallos, 48 years old, married; Faisal Sali Asali, 18 years old, male, single; Alvin Donhin Ismael alias “MANOK”, 28 years old, male separated; Haikal Liay Malik, 20 years old, male, single; Benjamin Laja Iddi, 33 years old, male, married; and Arsid Liay Malik, 18 years old, male, married, all residents of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
Operatives recovered from suspects possessions are: eleven (11) pieces of transparent plastic sachets containing a suspected shabu with estimated value of sixty-eight thousand pesos ( Php 68,000.00); eleven (11) pieces of transparent plastic straws containing a suspected shabu with estimated value of three thousand, seven hundred forty pesos (Php 3,740.00); one (1) piece of transparent plastic sachet containing a suspected shabu with estimated value of three thousand, four hundred pesos (Php 3,400.00) purchased item; one (1) piece of Php1000.00 peso bill (registered buy bust/marked money); drug money worth two thousand, six hundred twenty pesos ( Php 2,620.00); one (1) unit Caliber 9MM pistol NORINCO with magazine containing seven pieces of ammunitions; one (1) piece of comouflage holster; one (1) piece of Camelbak bag; one (1) unit Cellular phone; and other drug paraphernalia.
After documentation, inventory, and marking of evidence on the site of operation, arrested suspects including the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Bongao Municipal Police Station for thorough investigation and proper disposition. The arrested suspects were properly informed of their constitutional rights in a dialect understood by them.
Police Brigadier General Eden T Ugale, Regional Director, PRO BAR lauds the operating personnel of Bongao Municipal Police Station for their unrelenting efforts in eradicating illegal drugs in Bongao municipality. He also encouraged the public to support the Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign of the Philippine National Police by denouncing these illegal activities and report any drug peddling and abuse in their area.
