           Maimbung, Sulu --- A buy-bust operation conducted by the joint elements of PRO BAR operatives at the vicinity of Maimbung Public Market, Brgy. Poblacion, Maimbung, Sulu on June 26, 2021 resulted in the death of a drug dealer and seizure of MOL 1000 grams of shabu with a National average price of ₱ 6,800,000.00.

            Three drug peddlers identified as Bashir Rajik, Basaron Rajik, and Darwin Rajik agreed to sell shabu to undercover agent who posed as a poseur buyer. After the consummation of the transaction, the suspects sensed that they are dealing with the PNP and PDEA agents. The suspects ensued a firefight and were able to escape using a motorized vessel escaping towards the direction of Pata, Sulu. Leaving behind MOL 1000 grams of shabu placed inside open green plastic cellophane labeled as Guanyinwang refined Chinese tea.

            After receiving information that the suspects were sighted at Brgy. Sangkap, Pata Sulu, the operatives arranged a follow-up operation and immediately proceeded to the said Barangay around 10:00 AM of June 27, 2021. The operatives were able to recover the dead body of Darwin Rajik, who was left by his companions. However, the two remaining suspects were able to escape in an unknown direction.

            A case is being readied for filing against the two at-large suspects for violating the Republic Act 9165. Further, the cadaver of Darwin Rajik was claimed by his relatives and buried following Muslim burial rites.

PBGEN Eden T Ugale, RD, PRO BAR made this assessment as he noted the recent series of successful police interdiction operations against illegal drug activities in the region yielding a million worth of illegal drugs.
