Sibutu, Tawi Tawi (June 7, 2021) - Operatives of Sibutu MPS together with PDEA BAR, Philippine Marines, and Philippine Air Force successfully arrested in a joint buy-bust operation the target drug peddlers on Sunday afternoon at Barangay Ambutong Sapal, Sibutu, Tawi-Tawi.
Initial reports disclosed that the said buy-bust operation was conducted for a certain YUSOP AMBUTONG IPLA aka "Usuf", a drug peddler of ALSHID HAMSAIN KAMLON aka "Alcid", an identified head runner of drugs in the area of Sibutu and Sitangkai, Tawi Tawi.
The suspect and his cohorts were about to sell drugs in an undercover agent when the operatives found out that ALSHID HAMSAIN KAMLON was also in the area. KAMLON was successfully arrested and seized in his possession were the following: Four-piece live ammunition of cal. 45 pistol, marked money, drug paraphernalia, and more or less 50 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) estimated to be worth P340,000.00.
His cohorts who were about to engage in an instance of selling drugs were identified to wit: YUSOP AMBUTONG IPLA aka "Usuf" with six pieces of a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu; OMAR IPLA TALON aka "Omar", Two (2) pcs small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance with an estimated 1.045 gram with a market value of Php9,800.00; and ELTON DALMATA KASAN aka "Elton", with shabu about 0.50 grams with market value of Php3,400.00 and 1.000 gram with an estimated value of Php6,800.00.
PBGEN Eden T Ugale, RD, PRO BAR lauded the elements of Sibutu MPS for this accomplishment. He also extends his appreciation to the immediate support extended by the PDEA, Phil. Marines, and Phil. Air Force. He also added that this is a result of PRO BAR's continued undertaking to strengthen the anti-criminality and anti-illegal drug campaigns in the region as well as its crime-solving efforts to improve peace and order and ensure the safety and security of all Bangsamoro people.
The suspects are now detained at Sibutu MPS for investigation and proper disposition, awaiting the filing of charges of violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
