CAMP BGEN SALIPADA K PENDATUN, Parang, Maguindanao – Six (6) members of Private Armed Group in Maguindanao voluntarily surrendered and laid their arms to the government authorities on March 2, 2021 in Parang, Maguindanao.
The surrenderees, whose real names are being withheld for security reasons, are members of Pananggalan Private Armed Group operating in Maguindanao. They also surrendered their firearms including one (1) Mini Uzi Cal. 9mm with serial number 134561; ten (10) live ammunition (9mm); one (1) magazine for Uzi; one (1) homemade M79; one (1) 40mm HE; one (1) M14 Rifle defaced serial number; nine (9) live ammunition (.30); one (1) magazine for M14; one (1) home-made shotgun; one (1) magazine for shotgun; one (1) Sniper Rifle; and two (2) live ammunition of cal.50 to PRO BAR authorities.
They surrendered through the intensified Oplan Paglalansag Omega and Oplan Salikop operations conducted by the operatives of Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region with the coordination and support of the Local Chief Executive, Mayor Datu Umbra “Ramil” B. Dilangalen of Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao.
PRO BAR, with the unwavering support of the other law enforcement agencies in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region is determined to end Private Armed Groups in the region.
Police Brigadier General Samuel P Rodriguez, Regional Director, PRO BAR is calling the other members and leaders of Private Armed Groups in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region to lay down their arms to the government and return to the folds of law in order to achieve lasting peace in the Bangsamoro region. Rest assured that they will be supported by the government to start a new life.
Meanwhile, the Regional Director lauded the operating units in facilitating the peaceful surrender of Private Armed Groups in the Bangsamoro region.
