            BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi - Operatives of Bongao Municipal Police Station arrested four (4) drug suspects and seized some Php 137,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Nalil, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on February 2, 2021.

            Report from Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office disclosed that at about 5:35 PM of February 2, 2021, operatives of Bongao MPS conducted an Anti-Illegal Drug Operation (buy-bust) which resulted to the arrest of drug suspects identified as Nanang Jalaidi Titing, 59 years old, married; Yusop Jamiri Ting, 51 years old, married; Isal Sabbani Kamdon, 19 years old, married and Edwin Abduraup Muhajili, 29 years old, all resident of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

            Recovered from the suspects' possessions were the following pieces of evidence: five (5) pieces of transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules believed to be shabu with an estimated value of one hundred thirty-six thousand pesos (Php 136,000.00); one (1) piece of transparent plastic straw containing white crystalline granules believed to be shabu with estimated value of one thousand three hundred sixty pesos (Php 1,360.00); buy bust money worth two thousand pesos (Php 2,000.00); drug money amounting to two thousand five hundred pesos (Php 2,500.00); and other drug paraphernalia.

            After documentation, inventory, and marking of evidence on the site of operation, the arrested suspects including the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Bongao Municipal Police Station for thorough investigation and proper disposition. The arrested suspects were properly informed of their constitutional rights in a dialect understood by them.

            Police Brigadier General Samuel P Rodriguez, Regional Director, PRO BAR, lauded the operating units for their unrelenting efforts in eradicating illegal drugs in Bongao municipality. He also encouraged the public to support the Anti-Drug Campaign of the Philippine National Police by denouncing these illegal activities and report any drug peddling and abuse in their area.
