Parang, Maguindanao – The Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region paid tribute to the members of Special Action Force of the Philippine National Police who were killed in the police operation called codenamed “Oplan Exodus” against Malaysian terrorist bomb-maker Zulkifli Abdhir also known as “MARWAN” and other high ranking members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao on January 25, 2015.
Police Brigadier General Samuel P Rodriguez, Regional Director, PRO BAR led the Wreath-Laying Ceremony on January 25, 2021 at Camp BGen Salipada K Pendatun, Parang, Maguindanao for the Commemoration of National Remembrance for the SAF 44 and PSSg Elenel Pido who died in line of duty last January 23, 2021.
During the program, PNP personnel who were involved in the Law Enforcement Operation against the Lawless Group of Datu Pendatun Talusan were accorded with corresponding medals and recognition. They are as follows:
Medalya ng Kadakilan was awarded to PSSg Elenel A Pido (KIA); Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting and Medalya ng Kagalingan was awarded to Police Captain Ronillo Daligdig, PCpl Gyvard M Bando, PCpl John-Ryan C Aquino, Pat Cayl Jun E Gonzalez, and all PNP members who were included in the Law Enforcement Operation in Sultan Kudarat .
Also, Medalya ng Kagalingan was awarded to Police Lieutenant Colonel Grand A Gollod, Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan H De Gracia, Police Lieutenant Colonel Cyros Belarmino, Police Major Julhamin Asdani, and Police Major Paul Vincent Camarce.
PBGen Rodriguez, in his speech, urged PNP members in the Bangsamoro region to remain steadfast against injustices perpetrated by terrorist and lawless groups and continue to remember the Gallant Special Action Force 44 and PSSg Pido who departed in the name of public service.
“On this day of National Remembrance for the Gallant SAF 44, let us continue to remember the memories of our brothers who gave their lives in defending our nation so that their heroic sacrifices are not forgotten by generations” PBGen Rodriguez said.
The Regional Director also reiterates that strong linkages and partnership with the Local Government Units and Civic-Oriented Organizations hold great importance to the success of every PNP operation. He called the public to support the PNP and other government forces in fighting injustices and inhumane act perpetrated by terrorist groups in the Bangsamoro region and urging to be vigilant and vocal against every form of atrocities.
