On January 15, 2021, Sulu Police Provincial Office received the Warrant of Arrest issued by the court for the 9 PNP members involved in the shooting incident in Jolo, Sulu last June 29, 2020, after Chief PNP, Gen. Debold M Sinas approves their administrative penalty of dismissal from service.
Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region is committed to the rule of law. In that account, Sulu PPO ensures to serve the warrant of arrest as soon as possible. However, upon serving the warrant of arrest at the respective addresses of the subjects, none of the 9 Jolo cops were at their residences. Tracker Team and Intel Operatives of PRO BAR are continuously tracking the whereabouts of the accused.
Also, PRO BAR appeals to the concerned individuals to voluntary submit themselves to the authorities - this also goes to their respective families to avoid being accountable before the law once they try to abet these individuals who are now with a standing criminal charge.
PRO BAR would also like to remind the public that the 9 Jolo cops are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law. The 9 dismissed Jolo cops will be given a chance to prove their innocence before the law, hence, the issuance of the said warrant of arrest.
