MAGUINDANAO - The Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region arrested one of the suspects to the killing of Mondjahid Tauf, 20 years old, resident of Salimbao, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
On December 21, 2020, Upi Municipal Police Station received a report regarding a missing person. Immediately, personnel of Upi MPS conducted Intel-driven operation and investigation. During thorough investigation, concerned-citizens and witnesses from Barangay Kibucay informed the Upi MPS operatives about the hasty grave in a remote area in the said barangay. Immediately, personnel of Upi MPS coordinated with Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station and CIDG BAR. At about 6:00 a.m. of December 22, 2020, joint operatives of PRO BAR went to the reported hasty grave in Kibucay wherein they found and recovered the cadaver of reported missing person Mondjahid Tauf.
The Regional Crime Laboratory Office, known as SOCO team, was processing the cadaver for body examination and evidence collection for the filing of criminal case against the perpetrators of the crime. The cadaver of the victim was brought by his family to Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao for Muslim burial.
One of the suspects, identified by the witnesses as Rafzanjani Bayona Tatak, was arrested and is now under the custody of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
Regional Director, PRO BAR, Police Brigadier General Samuel P Rodriguez directed all PNP Units in the Bangsamoro region to arrest alias “Datu Nash” who was positively identified by witnesses as the cohort of the arrested suspect, Tatak. Upi Municipal Police Station is now on filing of criminal charges against the suspects.
PRO BAR assures the bereaved family of the victim and the Bangsamoro people that justice will be served. Meanwhile, PRO BAR encourage the public's cooperation to report any information on the whereabouts of alias “Datu Nash” to the nearest police station for his immediate arrest and to bring him to the bar of justice.
