          Philippine National Police supports the laws and regulations governing forest lands in our country in intensifying its drive against illegal logging to protect forests, its conservation and management.

          Recently, on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Tanjung Wharf, Brgy Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu, personnel of Indanan MPS received information from a concerned civilian regarding presence of pieces of good lumber stacked at the said wharf.

          Indanan MPS personnel went to the said area and recovered 20 large  pieces of lumber with an estimated measurement of MOL 500 board feet and an estimated market value of MOL 20, 000.00 pesos.

          Initial investigation disclosed that the said items were brought by the suspect/s to the area by a motor banca from a nearby island of Indanan, Sulu. Fearing a possible arrest, the suspect/s abandoned the lumbers at Tanjung Wharf. The intercepted items will be turned over to the office of CENRO - DENR Sulu for proper disposition.
