          Apprehension of the suspect identified as Rasul Ali Sedik, male, 32 years old, resident of Tamontaka, DOS, Maguindanao, with a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of Carnapping was made possible through his application for Police Clearance at Datu Odin Sinsuat, Municipal Police Station on a Monday, November 23, 2020.

            Prior to the said apprehension, the suspect applied for a police clearance or the National Police Clearance at DOS MPS. Apparently, the personnel were notified through Enhanced Electronic Warrant of Arrest (e-warrant) system that the said person has a standing warrant of arrest.

            Upon verification, it was found out that the subject person has a pending warrant of Arrest with Criminal Case no. 2016-7881 issued by Hon. GEORGE C JABIDO, Presiding Judge, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 13, Cotabato City, for violation of Republic Act No. 10883, or otherwise known as the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 (RA 10883).

            After the verification of the said warrant, Sedik was properly arrested and informed of his constitutional rights in a dialect known and understood by him under the law.

            This is the second time, this month alone, that the operatives of PRO BAR were able to arrest at large suspects through the use of Next Generation Investigation Solutions (NGIS). The first one was when a Frustrated Murder suspect of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon applied for Police Clearance at WAO MPS, Lanao Del Sur.
