PICONG, Lanao Del Sur - About 5:00 PM of November 5, 2020 joint personnel of Picong MPS and Philippine Navy (Marines) while manning the Quarantine Check Point, plugged down one (1) red Toyota Innova loaded with 17 boxes of San Marino Cigarettes for unlawful conversion of cargo.
Suspects Jamalodin Ali Mantar, 22 y/o, male, married, driver and a resident of Igot, Turno, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del norte (driver); Abdul Halim Ondi Manalocon, 36 y/o, male, married, resident of Brgy. Baybay, Galas, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del norte (Passenger); were placed under arrest for the violation of RA 10863 (An act modernizing the customs and tariff administration) when the suspects failed to provide documentation for the legalities of their shipment.
Arrested persons together with the pieces of evidence were brought to Picong MPS for proper documentation and disposition.
The Police Regional Office of the Bangsomoro Autonomous Region remains vigilant in protecting the boarders of the Bangsamoro region against unlawful shipment and travel of goods that breaks the law of trade and impacts the economy of the country.
