            SUMISIP, BASILAN – The Joint Operatives of Basilan Police Provincial Office and 64th Infantry Battalion, PA in coordination with PDEA BARMM arrested alleged Abu Sayyaf Group Member for peddling Illegal Drugs in Sumisip, Basilan on October 27, 2020 at about 6:20 o’clock in the evening.

             Sumisip Municipal Police Station was identified the suspect as Musa J Arsid, male, 23 years olf, married, resident of Sitio Bayug, Barangay Samak, Estino, Sulu and alleged member of Abu Sayyaf Group based in Sulu province.

             The report of Basilan Police Provincial Office to Police Brigadier General Samuel P Rodriguez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region disclosed that this PNP Anti-Drug Operations resulted to the confiscation of one (1) piece of heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu worth of One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php 1,500.00); Two-thousand five hundred pesos (Php 2,500) including the five hundred (Php500.00) peso bill used as marked buy-bust money; one (1) Raider 1500cc Motorcycle color black  , two (2) cellphones and one (1) caliber .45 pistol ARMSCOR with Serial Number 628513.

             The arrested suspect and pieces of evidence recovered were brought to Basilan Police Provincial Office for proper investigation and disposition.

             Meanwhile, Police BGen Rodriguez lauded the operating units for their relentless efforts in eradicating illegal drugs and criminalities in Basilan. He also encourages the public to support the Anti-Drug Campaign of the Philippine National Police through denouncing this illegal activity and report any suspicious activities in their area that involves drug peddling and abuse.
